Death notice — Miss Helen B. Hoffmann — Express-News, 18 Jan 1945
Thursday, 18 January 1945 San Antonio Express-News (page 16) paid death notice. Miss Helen B. Hoffmann, 33, of 126 W. Agarita Ave., died Wednesday, January 17. Notice identifies her survivors as parents, Dr. and Mrs. William J. Schlosser (her stepfather), sister Miss Mildred Schlosser, and grandmother Mrs. C. B. Menger. Funeral arrangements through Zizik-Kearns Funeral Home; rosary Wednesday 7:30 p.m., funeral Thursday 9 a.m. at the funeral home then 9:15 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with requiem mass by Rev. Helen was the daughter of the late William R. Hoffmann (founder of Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee Company, died January 1912) and Minnie Menger Hoffmann (later Mrs. William J. Schlosser). She was the namesake of Texas Girl Coffee, confirmed by the September 1937 The News column. Born approximately 1911–1912.
