Huntley Manufacturing Company
Silver Creek, New York. Producer of the Monitor brand coffee roasting, grading, and related machinery. A 26 August 1923 San Antonio Light trade display on page 64 names Huntley as the equipment line behind Hoffmann-Hayman’s automatic roasting story; the same issue’s main H&H products ad on page 66 captions the interior plant photos with “HUGE H AND H ROASTERS” and “AUTOMATIC WEIGHER AND PACKER.”
The companion William F. Fischer “Inserted Photo” credit on the products ad — Huntley’s representative — visited from Silver Creek to personally install and place the great Monitor machine into perfect operation.
Open questions
- What years did the Huntley supplier relationship run beyond 1923?
- Was the 1932 Delaware Street factory’s new roasting line also Huntley/Monitor equipment, or a different supplier?
- Surviving Huntley/Monitor machinery from H&H (sold, scrapped, or sitting in a barn somewhere?)
