Aviation Brand Coffee Lid — Tucker Coffee Co.
A round screw-cap jar lid for Tucker Coffee Co.’s “Aviation” brand, in a teal-blue and red wartime-era litho that has oxidized to a heavy rust-mottled patina. A four-engine bomber — the silhouette reads as a B-17 Flying Fortress — banks across the top of the lid, with the cream script “above all” tucked under the nose. Below that, “AVIATION” in shadowed red block letters, “100% PURE”, and “COFFEE” at the rim, most of which is still legible despite the corrosion.
Tucker Coffee sits on the family-history thread: after Mr. Hayman sold his stake in Hoffmann-Hayman Coffee, he invested in Tucker Coffee, which packaged the Aviation brand out of 422-424 Ruiz Street in San Antonio. This lid pairs with the Tucker letterhead picked up in 2015 — see Tucker Coffee Co. Letterhead for the company’s principals and address.
