Obituary for Gus P. Menger, 84, retired chairman of the board of the H & H Coffee Co., who died Monday. He lived at 1919 Kenilworth Blvd. and was a member of the National Coffee Association and a past-president of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association. Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Zizik-Kearns-Downing-McClaugherty Chapel. Requiem Mass at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church; burial at Miss Burial Park South.

Survivors: wife Mrs. Adele Menger; three daughters; one son; a stepson; a sister; three brothers; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Gus P. Menger (1889–1974) — president of H&H from approximately 1920 through 1960, then chairman. His wife at death is Adele Menger (not Rose Lee, who died in 1955) — confirming a second marriage. His age at death (84) and the 1959 reference placing him in the industry since 1911 (age 22) are consistent with an 1889 birth year.

Gus P. Menger, retired chairman of the board of the H & H Coffee Co., died here Monday.

Menger, 84, lived at 1919 Kenilworth Blvd. He was a member of the National Coffee Association and a past-president of the San Antonio Manufacturers Association.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Adele Menger, three daughters, one son, a stepson, a sister, three brothers, 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
