Hoffmann's Old Time Blended Coffee one-pound tin, pry-off lid, granny-in-circle label, General Steel can base mark

This one-pound tin from eBay is not San Antonio H and H stock.

John Hoffmann & Sons Co. was a Milwaukee, Wisconsin roaster. The family name is spelled the same as William Hoffmann’s line in Texas, so the tin stays in the project as a deliberate “same name, different company” example when eBay lots blur together.

The can is a steel cylinder with a pry-off lid (not keywind) and litho panels that repeat around the body. The base carries the G in the diamond for General Steel Can Company of Chicago. The scheme is blue and gold with a red top banner, cream field, and the “old time” figure with spectacles and cup—useful for telling Wisconsin Hoffmann tins from Hoffmann–Hayman San Antonio at a glance.
